Registration is closed

Filed under: events, registration — staff @ 4:05 pm

Registration is now closed.  We are working hard to reconcile all pre-registrations and prepare all our materials for publication and printing.  You’ll still be able to refund and exchange tickets onsite at U-Con.  Weekend (3-day) badges will be $25 at the door but the cost for day passes is the same.

You can still view all events online.

We Need Volunteers

Filed under: spread the word, registration — staff @ 2:00 pm

We need more volunteers for U-Con!  U-Con can’t exist without its volunteers, and we have nearly many spots still available. First, thank you to those who have already contacted us about volunteering.  We appreciate your contribution to our hobby. To everyone else, there is still time to sign up.  Volunteers are scheduled on a first-come first serve basis.  If you can’t commit early, then you can still sign up at the convention.

If you’ve never volunteered for U-Con, it’s very easy.  We need door guards to monitor the entrance to our exhibitor hall and ensure that only attendees with badges can enter.  We need volunteer to assist us with collecting tickets for attendees to purchase.  As needed, we may ask a volunteer to navigate the building to find a specific person or accomplish a specific task.  Finally, if there is a large backup, we may need a volunteer to help organize the line and instruct our attendees on how to speed up the process.  Instruction will be provided onsite and we will do our best to work with you regarding scheduling or other limitations.

We ask for four hours of your time (in two hour shifts) and we give you a weekend pass ($25 value).  As a volunteer, you are eligible for a $5.00 discount on the convention tee shirt.  If you are having so much fun that you work two extra hours (for a total of six) then we also give you one free generic event ticket ($1.50 value).  We also have snacks available to keep our hard workers nourished.

More information is available in the volunteers section of the website. Please use the contact-us form to schedule your volunteer hours.  Please include in the message your name and the days and times you want to work (remember slots are in two hour increments).
