But in each game, only four of the sixteen scoring tiles will be scored. Thanks to the scoring tiles, each game is different and leads to different tactics and strategies, but having enough money is useful no matter what else is going on. Managing that money can be tricky, though. Each turn, each player places two area tiles in front of them and sets the selling price for the tiles. Will you try to control the tavern or the fortress? The harbor or the plantation? Knowing where to push for points – and where to back away and let your opponents fight – is the key to victory. Whoever has the most victory points at the end of the game wins. It's a game of bluff, counter-bluff, and surprise! Bidding tokens have different shapes and colors for easy identification. Colorful cardstock shields keep your bids private, and also provide a handy rules reference during the auction. 6840 Yedo, GM: Gary Loyola (Oakland County Gamers), 5 players, No XP/Average, Friday 3p-6p. Japan, 1605. Hidetada Tokugawa has succeeded his father as the new Shogun, ruling from the great city of Edo (a.k.a. Yedo), the city known in present times as Tokyo. This marks the beginning of the golden age of the Tokugawa Shogunate and the so-called Edo Period that will last until 1868. Naturally, the most powerful families in Edo immediately try to curry favor with the new Shogun, and this is the opportunity our clan has been looking for, our chance at power and glory. Our clan will prove ourselves to be indispensable to the new Shogun. We will work from the shadows to acquire information about our rival clans. We will kidnap those who might oppose our ascent and assassinate those who prove a threat. We will use cunning to prevent our adversaries from doing the same to us. We will find glory and honor in the eyes of this new Shogun - or failing that we will end his rule by any means necessary. In the strategy game Yedo, players assume the roles of Clan Elders in the city of Edo during the early years of the Tokugawa Shogunate. The object of the game is to amass Prestige Points, mainly by completing missions. To do so, players must gather the necessary assets and, most importantly, outfox their opponents and prevent them from completing their missions. General Audience (13+) Ballroom Table 415. $4.00

6856 T.I.M.E Stories: The Marcy Case, GM: Randolph Williams (Contessa), 4 players, No XP/Simple, Friday 3p-7p. Perhaps you've heard of it: a unique "decksploration" cooperative gaming system with limited-to-nonexistent replayability. Sure, you can buy a new module, but what to do with a scenario once you've already played through it? You host an event, that's what; at least that's what I'm doing. So if you've balked at a $65 price tag for a "one-time" use game, come experience the adventure without the major investment! I'm choosing to host The Marcy Case, the second module in the series. The base game includes Asylum, so if you enjoy this enough to buy it, you still have a full fresh experience with the base set (and can choose whether or not to purchase the Marcy module). "We have now mastered time travel, but faults and paradoxes threaten the very fabric of the universe. The T.I.M.E. Agency has been created to prevent their appearance and protect humanity. As temporal agents, you and your team will be sent into different worlds or realities, into the bodies of other beings (or “receptacles”). You will control these receptacles to fulfill the missions given to you. Communicate and collaborate to triumph over the perils standing in your path. Carefully observe the scenes shown on the board before acting. Complete your mission as quickly as possible. Know that you can attempt the mission as many times as necessary." ~ Bob Some mature themes and content. No spoilers from me! General Audience (13+) Conference C Table 6. $4.00

In Lords of Waterdeep, a strategy board game for 2-5 players, you take on the role of one of the masked Lords of Waterdeep, secret rulers of the city. Through your agents, you recruit adventurers to go on quests on your behalf, earning rewards and increasing your influence over the city. Expand the city by purchasing new buildings that open up new actions on the board, and hinder – or help – the other lords by playing Intrigue cards to enact your carefully laid plans. During the course of play, you may gain points or resources through completing quests, constructing buildings, playing intrigue cards or having other players utilize the buildings you have constructed. 6218 Glory to Rome, GM: Mark Brehob, 10 players, No XP/Average, Friday 8p-10p. Glory to Rome is a card-based city building and resource management game with a novel mechanism. Each card may act as a building, a client, a raw material, or a valuable resource, frequently forcing players into difficult decisions regarding how each card should be used. In addition, much of the game is played from the discard pool, giving players some control over what cards are accessible to opponents. Actions are triggered by a form of card-driven role selection -- the active player leads a role, and other players may follow if they discard a matching card from hand (to the pool). Players who don't follow may 'think' to draw more cards. There are thus strong interactions between the different uses of cards. Scoring is a combination of completing buildings and storing resources, with end-of-game bonuses for storing a diverse assortment. Game length is player-controlled, and is triggered in a few different ways. The lighthearted artwork of the original editions was replaced by minimalist art in the 'black box' edition, and both have been the source of great controversy. Many of the non-English editions use more conventional artwork. We should have both sets of art available for play. General Audience (13+) Ballroom Table 305-306. $2.00
