Participation Rules
Rules for Sellers
Seller Registration
Your badge number is your seller number. Each
seller must complete an Item List (on the back side
of this form) and the corresponding number of
individual item slips. You can register items during
the convention before the auction starts.
Donations to the Convention
Our cut for the charity is 10% of the selling price of
each SOLD item or $1, whichever is greater,
rounded up to the nearest dollar. Donating an
additional percentage of an item’s selling price
earns our undying gratitude. Donations are in
increments of 10%. The Item List has a spot for
indicating this.
Selling Order
We auction items based on when they are submitted
for the auction. The earlier you submit them to the
auction, the earlier in the queue they will be.
Collecting Your Payment and Unsold Items
Sellers collect their payment and unsold items after
our accountants have completed their number
crunching. Since this happens AFTER the auction,
we ask for your patience. Collection time is
immediately after the auction once all they buyers
have paid for their items. If you cannot pick up your
payment and unsold items then, they will be held at
registration until registration closes for the night.
All unclaimed payments will be donated to the
charity, and all unclaimed items will be donated to
the Games Library!
Rules for Bidders
Bidder Registration
The auction paddle you receive is your bidder
number. There are a limited number of paddles, so
make sure to arrive before the auction starts to
guarantee receiving one. Arriving early also allows
you an early preview of the items being auctioned.
Bidding Procedure
The auctioneer announces the opening bid for each
item. If you wish to bid that amount, raise your
paddle (don’t be shy, raise it high). If more than one
bidder has their paddle raised, the auctioneer
continues to increase the bid until only one hand is
raised. At that time, the item is ‘going’ for the high
bid. If no other bidders rejoin the bidding the item
is SOLD to the high bidder. Bids are increased in
$1 increments, but we do accept bidders calling out
higher bids if they wish.
Paying for Items
We only accept cash as payment. After the auction,
buyers are given a total for the amount they owe
and can then collect their items. We recommend
that buyers keep track of what they buy during the
auction.
Caveat Emptor
While we endeavor to describe each item
accurately, we are not responsible for the condition
or contents of any item(s) sold in the auction. Any
problems must be taken up with the seller. No
dueling facilities are provided.
