Swords & Sorcery: A Scavenger Saga

Assemble your team of brave heroes and set off on the adventure of the weekend!

MC900444844[1]Even bigger and badder than last year’s Clue: The Scavenger Hunt, this year’s scavenger hunt Swords & Sorcery: A Scavenger Saga will honor–of course!–the 40th anniversary of D&D. You’ll travel on a nostalgic journey, revisiting some of the beloved tricks and tropes of fantasy role-playing games and meeting some classic NPCs.

Like last year, there will be a mix of puzzles, tasks, and extremely–er–colorful characters to chat up. Naturally, a familiarity with D&D and RPGs in general will be helpful, but it certainly isn’t necessary. Wits, resourcefulness, and a sense of humor are your best weapons!

Who Can Play?
Anyone who has a badge–no event ribbon is required, and participation is free! Teams of 2 to 4 people are required. Participants under the age of 18 must be on a team with a parent or guardian.

What Can We Win?
What else would you get but treasure? We’ll be offering prizes to the top teams, as well as special prizes to the best team of Fighters, Clerics, Magic-Users, or Rogues (that is, the team scoring the most Experience Points in each category).

When and Where is the Hunt?
After you get your introductory scroll at Registration, you’ll be instructed on where to get your team envelope, which contains everything to get you started–except the clues! Starting at 9am Saturday the Dungeon Mistress will accept your registration card and distribute the clues. The hunt will take you all over the Conference Center and into some of the public areas of the hotel–and perhaps even outside, if it doesn’t snow this year!

Why?
Fun and treasure, why else?

How Do We Win?
You have until the 11th hour to complete your quest (that is, 8pm). You don’t have to complete every bit; do as much as you can–every Experience Point counts! The winning teams will be announced that evening; you’ll find out where and when very soon!

If you have any questions, or need any additional info, you may send an email to DungeonMistressGenevieve <at> gmail <dot> com.

Happy hunting!
