Looking for a few good Gamemasters

The time has come again for us to begin accepting applications for Gamemasters for U-Con 2019 (Nov 22-24)! Gamemasters are the creative force behind U-Con, and we couldn’t do what we do without you!

Why would you want to be a gamemaster?

  • Share games you love! – Nothing beats the feeling of seeing someone’s eyes light up when they really *get* your favorite game and see all the same fun and challenge in it that you do. We accept events before the final deadline in August as long as we have space.
  • Be unique! At U-Con, we love to see games that aren’t the same ones you see over and over. Got a cool little game you think more people need to play? Bring it!
  • Get involved! – Gamemasters are an integral part of what makes U-Con great. If you’ve ever been interested in getting to know about how the con works, here’s your chance!
  • Get into U-Con free! – We ask each gamemaster to run at least 6 hours of events in order to receive a GM badge, though we make exceptions for those who organize larger events such as LARPs.
  • Play games free! – Gamemasters who go above and beyond by running a total of 16 hours of games can earn a Play Games All Weekend Ribbon.  This ribbon grants access to events all weekend long as if you had generics.  Free ribbons will be included in the preregistration materials of those who qualify.

Excited to sign up this year? It only takes a few minutes:

To join us as a gamemaster, we need to know a few things about you and the games you want to run. Use our online event submission form and be all set in minutes. We ask for:

  • Your name and contact information
  • Description of the event(s)
  • Scheduling preferences, including how much time to reserve for your event(s)

Once your games are accepted, when you log in, you’ll be able to see your schedule of events and, once registration opens, the number of players ticketed for your event. If you have multiple events, you may follow the prompts to add them before you complete your submission.

Have any questions? Just let us know at contact@ucon-gaming.org or through  https://www.facebook.com/ucongaming/ !
Happy gaming!

Nick runs U-Con's social media. He got re-involved with board gaming when he found a mostly intact copy of HeroQuest at a garage sale. He started volunteering at U-Con in 2015. His current favorites are Bunny Kingdom, Viticulture, and Star Realms, but he's always looking for the next great game.
