Missed the Hotel Block?
We are thrilled by the amount of interest in U-Con this year, and how early rooms in our hotel block at the Ann Arbor Marriott Ypsilanti at Eagle Crest have been booked by our attendees. However, this means that our convention block of rooms is almost entirely sold out at this point. The U-Con staff has had multiple conversations with the Marriott team: the hotel has been able to add a handful of king rooms to our block, but unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that additional rooms beyond those will be added to our convention block for booking through our link.
Given this, we have several suggestions for attendees who need hotel rooms, but have not been able to book in the convention block.
Our primary suggestion is for you to book a room at the Marriott Eagle Crest, outside of the convention block, if rooms are still available for the dates which you need. If you make a reservation at the Marriott this way, please let the U-Con staff know via our contact form contact form that you have done so, and we will work with the Marriott to manually add your reservation to the block (and get you our convention block room rate); we have been able to do this with the Marriott in past years, but we can’t guarantee that it will work this year.
Our secondary suggestion, if the Marriott Eagle Crest is full, is for you to book a room at one of the two hotels which are across the street from the Marriott Eagle Crest:
- Hampton Inn & Suites Ypsilanti, 515 James L Hart Parkway, Ypsilanti MI 48197
- Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Ann Arbor Ypsilanti, 326 James L Hart Parkway, Ypsilanti MI 48197
At this time, both the Hampton Inn and the Fairfield have rooms available from Thursday, November 12 through Monday, November 16th. Please note that U-Con does not have a relationship with either of these hotels, and so, there is not a convention block of rooms at either hotel, nor will we be arranging blocks – they are just the two other nearest hotels to the convention.
All U-Con attendees, whether or not they are staying at the Marriott Eagle Crest, will receive complimentary self-parking at the Marriott throughout our event.
