Pirate Borg Special Event

Suffety Games is pleased to run “Into the Maelstrom,” a tournament event for the Pirate Borg RPG at this year’s U-Con on Saturday evening at 7pm. 

Pirate Borg is a rules-light RPG, adapted from the award-winning Mörk Borg RPG, in which players take on the role of pirates in a dark, violent, and undead-filled version of the Caribbean Sea, where risky choices are encouraged, and character death is common.

During this event, your “crew” will be yourself and four to five other players at your table; you’ll compete against three other tables full of pirates. Each crew will be scored on achieving certain tasks during the adventure, as well as on the treasure and relics which you acquire. The top-scoring crew will receive bragging rights as the tournament winners.

In this event, you’ll be playing through the climax of “Into the Maelstrom,” an adventure created by Limithron, the developer of Pirate Borg and the “Down Among the Dead” supplement. Your crew will head to the undead pirate ship the Maelstrom, tasked with aiding your patron in finding their loved one while also pursuing your own goals. As you rove through the bowels of the Maelstrom, searching for captives and loot, you’ll face the vampiric pirate lord Captain Albrecht the Tideborn and the other denizens of the ship, who will all seek to defeat you.

Game designer Ahmed Suffety of Suffety Games is coordinating this event. Ahmed has been a part of several Limithron events, and is excited to bring the fun of Pirate Borg to U-Con.
